The White House justified this by saying that “the investigation is completed”

American President Joe Biden has no intention of testifying at hearings in the House Oversight Committee regarding his family’s business dealings as part of the impeachment investigation. CNN reports this, citing a letter from the President’s special advisor Richard Sauber to committee chair James Comer.

“Your impeachment investigation is over. We decline your invitation for President Biden to testify,” the channel quotes the letter.

In the document, Sauber emphasized that Biden has done “nothing wrong.” He also accused Comer of making “false and baseless accusations.”

In December, the lower house of the US Congress approved a resolution sanctioning further investigation that could eventually lead to Biden’s impeachment. It concerns allegations of abuse of power, corruption, and obstruction of justice against the American leader from several Republican-led parliamentary committees. Lawmakers believe that the White House chief lied to Americans about not knowing about his family members’ business.

CNN notes that the Republican investigation into Biden’s impeachment has hit a dead end. Lawyers hired by lawmakers have failed to find evidence of wrongdoing by the president.
