Call for industrial action at seven airports in Germany on February 20th


The strike will last for a day. The Verdi union is pushing for an increase in pay for ground staff by 12.5%, or at least 500 euros per month

The German union Verdi has called on the ground personnel of the country’s largest airline, Lufthansa, to strike at seven airports on February 20, according to Associated Press.

The strike will last for a day and will affect the airports of Berlin, Munich, Frankfurt, Dusseldorf, Hamburg, Cologne, and Stuttgart. The union is seeking an increase in pay for ground staff by 12.5%, or at least 500 euros per month.

A similar strike took place in early February at five airports in Germany, leading to the cancellation of hundreds of flights.
