According to the report, earlier Michael Johnson blocked the approval of two budget proposals put forward by the Democrats, and also met with Republicans in the House of Representatives who advocate for an initiative that includes aid to Israel and Ukraine. The Speaker decided to revise this bill in order to put it to a vote in March-April of this year.

The channel specifies that the Chairman of the House Foreign Affairs Committee Michael Mackol is working on the revision of the initiative. CNN writes that Johnson is taking a risk by bringing the proposal to a vote, as supporters of Republican Donald Trump may vote to remove him from the position of Speaker.

Previously, the US Department of Defense planned to use the remaining four billion dollars to send military aid to Kiev. They may deploy their own arsenals for this, but no decision has been made on this matter yet.
