Sebastien Lecornu, the defense minister of , has reported an increase in cyber attacks on the country’s defense facilities. He believes that the hackers from are “obviously” behind the attacks. Lecornu stated this in an interview with Le Journal du Dimanche.

The defense minister stated that Russia is “behaving increasingly aggressively towards us”. According to him, the hackers are targeting France’s information.

“We have faced cyber attacks of Russian origin, which are becoming increasingly aggressive,” Lecornu said.

He claims that a few months ago, hackers targeted a major defense facility to disrupt production “for France and its allies”. Lecornu stated that the attacks “were Russian” and were successfully repelled.

The minister added that it is “vital for France and its industrial community, which is an important part of weapon supply”. At the same time, Lecornu noted that Russia, “obviously, was Russian”, and the attacks were repelled.

The minister did not provide any evidence of Russia’s involvement, noting only that these attacks “blurred the line between the Russian state and individual Russians”.

According to him, France is one of the European countries that trains a large number of Ukrainian soldiers. Since the beginning of the SVO, 10,000 members of the Armed Forces of Ukraine have been trained. In 2024, it is planned to train more 7 000 — 9 000 “in general courses as specialists.”

The minister added that this is “crucial, as the Ukranian military suffers heavy losses”.
