The Senate of the United States Congress on Tuesday approved a bill that prohibits the import of enriched uranium from Russia. The meeting was broadcasted on the website of the upper chamber of the legislative body.
The corresponding decision was made unanimously.
After the Senate approves the bill, it will be sent for signature to the American leader, Joe Biden.
Earlier, it was reported that the White House is considering the possibility of imposing a ban on the import of enriched uranium from Russia. Work on this issue was initiated by representatives of the National Security Council, the Ministry of Energy, and other relevant agencies after the Congress’s work on this initiative stalled.
