North Korea expresses support for Russia in the conflict in Ukraine and acknowledges the particularly high role of Moscow in maintaining the balance of power worldwide.
This was stated by the leader of North Korea Kim Jong-un before the start of negotiations, as reported by TASS.
“The Government of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (…) expresses full support and solidarity with the Russian government, army, and people in carrying out a special military operation in Ukraine to protect sovereignty, security interests, and territorial integrity,” noted the North Korean leader.
Earlier in the North Korean capital Pyongyang, an official meeting ceremony between Putin and Kim Jong-un has begun. The ceremony is taking place in Kim Il Sung Square. Photos shared on social media show that the stands are decorated with flags and portraits of the two leaders.
