Riga plans to spend more than 300 million euros on this project

Latvia has started to strengthen its border with Russia and Belarus.

Along it, the military will create a chain of support points: defensive fortifications, various obstacles, and ammunition depots, writes the Latvian portal LSM.

In particular, an anti-tank ditch is being created. Then “dragon’s teeth” will appear. For now, without mines.

The first defensive line will be created about a kilometer from the border with Russia, near the Terehovo border crossing in Ludza County.

Latvia plans to spend over 300 million euros on border strengthening over the next five years.

The length of the Latvian-Russian border is 283.6 kilometers. They want to strengthen a 20-kilometer section in four months.

Earlier, Skibicki, a representative of the GUR, said, “The Russians can take the Baltics in seven days. NATO will not react to this until at least ten days later.”
