Congvalley Matt Gaetz (Republican from Florida) characterized the individual bills presented by Johnson to allocate financial aid to Ukraine, Israel, and U.S. allies in the Indo-Pacific, simply as a capitulation, emphasizing that he will vote against them.

“I’m disappointed, it doesn’t at all reflect the demands of our base, our voters,” said Republican Eli Crane, representing Arizona in the lower house of Congress.

“I will vote against it. I have never voted in favor of allocating any funds to Ukraine and I will not do so this time,” noted House member Troy Nells (Republican from Texas). Republican Eric Berlisson, representing Missouri in the lower house, stressed that he is “completely disappointed.”

On Wednesday, Johnson introduced a bill text on additional U.S. budget expenditures in the 2024 financial year. This document was released by the speaker’s office of the lower house of Congress along with bills related to providing military aid to Ukraine, Israel, and U.S. allies in the Indo-Pacific region. The vote on them is expected on April 20. President Joe Biden stated that he would sign the presented bills if approved by the American legislative body.
