Risks of Water Release from Dnieper Hydropower Station Evaluated at Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant

The administration of the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant (ZNPP) assessed the risks to the facility associated with the discharge of water from the DniproHydroelectric Power Station. This was reported by RBC.

“The ZNPP does not anticipate risks to the station from the discharge of water from the DniproHydroelectric Power Station, located upstream in the controlled Ukrainian city of Zaporizhia,” the publication writes.

 

Earlier, the governor of the Kherson region Vladimir Saldo said that Ukraine has started an emergency water discharge from the DniproHydroelectric Power Station. He added that significant flooding of coastal areas in the Kherson region is not expected, however, the islands in the Dnipro Delta are likely to be affected by the flooding.
