Switzerland currently supports the economic sanctions of the European Union against Russia. On March 1, the Swiss Federal Department of Economic Affairs, Education and Research (EAER) decided to join the EU’s 13th package of sanctions against Russia. The Swiss authorities then imposed sanctions on 106 individuals and 88 legal entities related to Russia. The country has also joined all other packages of anti-Russian sanctions imposed by the EU since the start of the special operation. In addition, Switzerland has frozen assets of the Central Bank of Russia worth billions of dollars, as well as accounts of Russian legal entities and individuals.
