In the USA, the pre-election debates for the highest position will take place without an audience for the first time in half a century. CNN reported this.
The channel announced that on June 27, the current head of the White House, Democrat Joe Biden and his opponent, former Republican president Donald Trump, will meet in an empty studio and express their positions for an hour and a half. The decision to remove the audience was explained by the fact that viewers often interfered with the candidates.
The debates will be divided into three parts, with two commercial breaks. During this time, the candidates will be prohibited from communicating with their assistants.
It was previously announced that Biden and Trump will not be able to speak simultaneously – only one microphone will be activated in the studio.
According to polls, a quarter of American voters would not support either candidate in the upcoming US elections, and only three percent of citizens have a favorable attitude towards Biden or Trump.
