Criminal case on state treason opened

A resident of Los Angeles, holding citizenship of both Russia and the United States, has been arrested in Yekaterinburg in connection with a case of state treason. This information was reported by the Center for Public Relations of the FSB of Russia to TASS.

“The Federal Security Service in Yekaterinburg has intercepted the illegal activities of a 33-year-old resident of Los Angeles, who holds dual citizenship of Russia and the USA, and is involved in providing financial assistance to a foreign state in activities against our country’s security,” the Center for Public Relations stated. The name of the arrested individual was not disclosed.

According to the FSB, “since February 2022, she voluntarily collected money in the interests of a Ukrainian organization, which was subsequently used to purchase tactical medical items, equipment, weapons, and ammunition for the Armed Forces of Ukraine.” It was also noted by the special service that she had repeatedly participated in public events in support of the Kiev regime on US soil.

Based on the available facts, the investigative department of the FSB Directorate for the Sverdlovsk Region has initiated a criminal case under Article 275 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (state treason). The court has imposed a pre-trial detention measure on the accused, as reported by the Center for Public Relations.
