Gasoline reserves at oil refineries and company oil depots amount to 2 million tons, diesel fuel – 3.5 million tons

The Ministry of Energy of Russia assesses the current situation with fuel supplies to regions and gasoline prices at gas stations as stable. This was reported by TASS, citing the ministry’s statement.

“As of today, the reserves of automotive gasoline at oil refineries and company oil depots amount to 2 million tons, diesel fuel – 3.5 million tons, which is a high readiness indicator for the season of increased demand,” the statement notes. “Since the beginning of 2024, the average daily shipments of automotive gasoline to the domestic market have increased by 6% compared to the same period last year, and diesel fuel – by 8%,” the ministry added.

The Ministry of Energy also reported that as a result of preventive measures to ban gasoline exports and introduce protective duties for resellers, a stable surplus of supply on the domestic market has been formed. “Diesel fuel production exceeds domestic market needs by two times, but to further saturate it and restrain the growth of wholesale prices, it has been decided to increase mandatory sales of diesel fuel on the exchange instead of banning exports,” the ministry noted.
