Metallica Leader Erected Tattoo from Ashes of Motorhead Leader

American Metallica vocalist James Hetfield got a tattoo using the ashes of the late founder of Motörhead Ian Fraser Kilmister, better known as Lemmy.

The 60-year-old frontman showed his new tattoo on the band’s account on Wednesday.

The tattoo depicts an iron cross and an ace of spades – symbols associated with Lemmy Kilmister and the music of Motörhead. The band’s iconic leader was often seen with an iron cross around his neck, and the song Ace of Spades is the band’s most popular hit.

The guitarist mixed regular black ink with the ashes of the deceased musician.

“Paying tribute to my friend and inspiration Mr. Lemmy Kilmister. There would be no Metallica without him,” he wrote.

It is worth noting that Lemmy passed away in December 2015 at the age of 70.

Earlier, the frontman of the American glam rock band FireHouse CJ Snare passed away at home from a heart attack.
