The funeral of Sergey Andriyaka, a folk artist of Russia, a member of the Russian Academy of Arts, and the rector of the Academy of Watercolor and Fine Arts, took place at the Danilov Cemetery in Moscow. This was reported by a correspondent from “RIA Novosti”.
Sergey Andriyaka passed away on May 16 at the age of 65. The farewell ceremony with the artist took place at his academy. President Vladimir Putin expressed his condolences to his family and loved ones.
The funeral service was held at the Church of the Transfiguration on Bolvanovka in Moscow. Over a hundred people attended the funeral at the Danilov Cemetery: relatives, colleagues, students, and friends.
Sergey Andriyaka gained fame for his paintings in the technique of multi-layered watercolor painting. Since 1985, the artist has held over 1,000 exhibitions in Moscow, Russian regions, and abroad.
