On the eve of March 8, all topics are about women. Even about mental health.

Egocentricity, manipulative tendencies, pathological lying, lack of guilt and remorse, lack of empathy, uncontrollable outbursts of anger, a constant need for excitement – all of these are just some signs of psychopaths. And Dr. Clive Boddy from the University of England’s Raskin believes that there are five times more female psychopaths than commonly believed. After all, women can easily deceive any psychiatrist. Moscow specialists fully agree with their foreign colleague.

Expert’s opinion

Dr. of Psychological Sciences, Professor Victor Gouldan confirmed in a conversation with aif.ru that women are often more dangerous than male psychopaths because they skillfully hide their inclinations.

“Psychopathy is a character anomaly, not a disease. It’s these pathological personality traits. There are several types of psychopathy: excitable psychopaths, histrionic psychopaths, schizoid psychopaths, paranoid psychopaths. Among women, excitable personalities are more common. Their main characteristics include egocentrism, a desire to attract attention, demonstrative behavior, and a tendency towards psychosomatic reactions,” explained Gouldan.

According to the specialist, female psychopaths play as if on a theater stage, which explains the characteristics of their behavior in life and during evaluations. In their manipulations, female psychopaths easily incorporate feminine wiles, with a characteristic feature being vivid imagination, often confusing wishes with reality.

“In every bright personality, you can find some psychopathic traits. For women, histrionic excitable traits are more common, but there can also be paranoid traits, meaning fixed on one idea, stubborn, fighters for justice. There are also schizoid women, low-active, not communicative – with their own inner autistic world. However, it should be noted that histrionic excitable personalities, who commit murders, were more common in psychological-psychiatric evaluations,” emphasized the psychiatrist.

Violence by such female psychopaths is committed in a state of maximum excitement. Their histrionic and excitable traits create a complex cocktail that, however, does not prevent these women from working, leading an active social life. According to the professor, they cannot be officially considered mentally ill – they are just people with a pathological character structure. However, they may experience various psychopathic decompensations, which enhance all their negative traits.

“During this period, they may commit socially dangerous actions, conflict more than usual, lose understanding of their actions. But still, it is not an illness, it is a dynamic of such pathological personality structures,” concluded the psychiatrist.
