Personal trainer Jess Sathard told Mirror about the reasons why weight can increase at night and why it is not worth worrying about.

Why weight can increase overnightThe expert noted that nightly weight fluctuations are normal. They are often associated with insufficient sleep or a heavy dinner. The trainer also warned that it is not worth evaluating the results of diet or exercise based solely on weight indicators. According to her, it is much more correct to take regular measurements.

Jess listed the main reasons why weight, despite efforts, may sometimes increase:

  • emergency menstruation in women,
  • stress,
  • lack of quality sleep,
  • overly intense workout,
  • inadequate water intake,
  • consumption of alcoholic beverages and snacks outside the home,
  • digestive problems, inadequate fiber intake,
  • late dinner,
  • increase in carbohydrates.
