Cocaine bricks were hidden in a container with bananas
A shipment of cocaine from Belgium worth 165 million rubles was found in a container with bananas at the Port of Saint Petersburg. The weight of the drug bricks was 11 kilograms. They were concealed between boxes, as reported by TASS.
A criminal case has been initiated on smuggling of narcotics on an especially large scale.
This is the fourth major drug smuggling case uncovered by customs officials in Saint Petersburg since the beginning of the year.
On January 24, the Federal Customs Service reported the seizure of 1.2 tons of cocaine worth 13 billion rubles at the Port of Saint Petersburg, the drug arrived from Antwerp in bags of coffee.
