We are in close contact with the local law enforcement agencies, as well as the husband of the kidnapped Russian woman. We are closely monitoring the situation, investigating all the circumstances of what happened and making efforts for her swift release,” the diplomat said.

Earlier, a woman from Moscow, Maria Rigovich, went missing in Mexico. When she was traveling by car with several companions from Monterrey to Reynosa, she called her husband and told him that they were being chased by a criminal cartel in vehicles. After that, the perpetrators abducted the entire group, let the passengers go, and took her in an unknown direction. Shortly after her disappearance, the girl contacted her husband again and asked him to transfer $1.5 thousand to a card. The husband has already contacted the Russian embassy, and the state prosecutor’s office of Tamaulipas promised to organize a search party.
