Skyscraper near 9/11 Memorial catches fire in New York City

In the morning of March 20 in New York City, a partially constructed skyscraper near the memorial erected in memory of the victims of the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks caught fire. According to Mirror.

In the footage published by Sky News, a column of gray smoke can be seen. It is noted that the fire occurred on the roof of a 72-story building located at 125 Greenwich Street. It is clarified that the construction of the skyscraper has been ongoing for over a year.

According to preliminary information, the fire may have started due to a malfunction in the air conditioning system of the building. At least two New York City Fire Department crews and an ambulance are on the scene. There is no information about any injuries.

In February 2023, a fire broke out in the under-construction Moscow Towers skyscraper in Moscow City.
