The operation was conducted in the Kaluga region, where the members of the banned organization “Vilayat Khorasan”, which is part of the “Islamic State” (IS, an organization recognized as terrorist and banned in Russia), were identified by FSB employees.
FSB neutralized the members of the cell who were preparing an armed attack on a synagogue in Moscow, as reported by TASS citing the special services.
During the arrest, the terrorists resisted and were neutralized.
Firearms, ammunition, and components for making homemade explosive devices were found at the radicals’ place of residence in the Kaluga region.
