The arrested Deputy Minister Ivanov owned a house of 1,500 square meters

During his time at the Ministry of Defense, the official accused of corruption, Deputy Minister Timur Ivanov, and his wife acquired a residential house with an area of over 1,500 square meters and several cars, as reported by the RIA Novosti agency based on an analysis of declarations from 2016–2019.

According to the documents, Timur Ivanov and his wife purchased a new car or motorcycle each year. In 2016, the family had nine vehicles, and by 2019, they had 12. Among Timur Ivanov’s cars are a Chevrolet Suburban (since 2016) and a ZIS-110 limousine (acquired in 2019). The cost of a ZIS-110, according to “Auto.ru,” ranges from 11 million to 18 million rubles. In 2019, the family of Timur Ivanov acquired a residential house with an area of over 1,500 square meters. Presumably, the cottage is registered in his wife’s name, not the Deputy Minister’s. Since 2016, Timur Ivanov himself has had a share in a 44.2 square meter apartment, and has been using a 300 square meter apartment. Since 2016, their child has been using a 350 square meter apartment in Mexico.

It was previously reported in the media that Timur Ivanov owns a mansion in Rublevka. The cost of the cottage, according to media reports, is 1 billion rubles. Its area is approximately 1,000 square meters. The owner of the house in the cadastral records is listed as the Russian Federation. Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov stated that he has not heard any official statements regarding the Deputy Minister’s house.

Timur Ivanov’s official income did not significantly increase during this time: in 2016, he declared 14.2 million rubles, and in 2019, 14.5 million rubles. His wife’s income is significantly higher: 55.4 million rubles in 2016, and 123.1 million rubles in 2018.

As reported by media, Ivanov’s family uses Bulgakov’s Master and Margarita mansion in Moscow central  and bodyguarded by special forces.

Timur Ivanov served as a Deputy Minister since 2016, responsible for managing military property, quartering troops, and providing housing and medical care for the armed forces. He was arrested on April 23, and a court ordered him to be held in custody for two months. The Deputy Minister is accused of accepting a bribe of over 1 million rubles (Part 6 of Article 290 of the Russian Criminal Code). Mr. Ivanov has not admitted guilt.
