According to the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs, Alexey Smirnov deceitfully took his underage daughter to the United States, where he systematically beat, insulted, and humiliated the girl.

The United States extradited Alexey Smirnov to Russia, who was wanted internationally for the abduction and torture of his underage daughter. This was reported by the press center of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs.

According to the investigation, Smirnov deceitfully took his underage daughter to the States. From August 2019 to February 2020, while in the city of Dania Beach in the state of Florida, he systematically beat, insulted, and humiliated the girl, knowing that she was in a helpless state.

In February 2020, a criminal case was opened against the man for the torture of a child. The accused was placed on an international wanted list, but for a long time, he managed to hide in the USA.

The criminal was arrested in the United States thanks to the cooperation between law enforcement agencies of Russia and the USA. Smirnov was brought to Moscow by the Russian Interpol unit.

According to TASS, after the parents of the abducted girl divorced, the court ruled that the child should live with the mother. In August 2019, Alexey Smirnov met with his daughter and did not return her after a walk. It was later discovered that they were in the United States. The mother went to the States and with the help of lawyers, through the court, managed to have her daughter returned.
