Sport.ru/ Football. On Saturday, May 11th, there were a series of important matches in the 28th round of RPL. One of them was between “Zenit” and CSKA. The teams met in St. Petersburg at the “Gazprom Arena” stadium. “Zenit” continues to fight for the title. Therefore, it was important for them to take three points in this match. CSKA has already lost the chance for high places. However, the team still aimed to play decently.

The first half passed without any goals. The main moment was when Ivan Oblyakov cleared the ball off the goal line after Wendel’s shot.

In the second half, CSKA managed to take the lead. After Mateo Cassier’s foul on Ilya Agapov, a penalty was awarded in CSKA’s goal. Fyodor Chalov calmly converted the penalty kick.

At the end of the match, “Zenit” tried to equalize the score. However, they failed to score a goal. In particular, young CSKA goalkeeper Vladislav Torop made several decent saves.

Thus, CSKA won with a score of 1-0. This is the first victory of the red-blue team over “Zenit” away since April 2011. “Zenit” dropped to second place in the RPL standings after Dynamo’s victory over Baltika (3-2). CSKA is currently in sixth place.

Nicolas Baranov:

– It’s time for the club’s management to think about Semak’s candidacy, how many coaching defeats have there been? There is no progress with the team, just like in the first season with Semak, it’s all back to square one. It’s horrible to watch the team play.

Nikolay Yakovlev:

– The season can be considered over. Semak needs to be fired.

Zenit Saint-Petersburg:

– I always defended Semak, but now I will say this for the first time. Semak, leave on your own, it will be the best thing now. It can’t get any worse.

Sinko Umi:

– Losing to the dead CSKA at our home ground, oh Semak, oh genius. And by the way, what does our set-piece coach, Timoshchuk, do? How many corners have we had, and no results.

Maxim Shinkarev:

– The last few matches, like today’s, can be described with one word – Shameful.

Sergei Bogdanovich, either make changes or it’s time to say goodbye!
