The number of counterfeit banking applications that successfully pass verification by app stores and end up freely available is increasing every year.
In 2023, their number increased by about 25 percent compared to 2022. This primarily concerns iOS versions, as reported by “Izvestia”.
“The main reason is that companies create new versions of applications and release them under different names, from different developers, this forces users to repeatedly download unknown programs that are replicas of banking apps,” said the CEO of the company Yuri Shabalin.
