According to preliminary data from “Roscosmos,” the first launch of “Angara-A5” from Vostochny is scheduled for Tuesday, April 9. This launch will mark the beginning of tests of the space rocket complex “Amur” using heavy launch vehicles “Angara.”

In 2018, the construction of launch infrastructure for the “Angara” rockets began at the Vostochny cosmodrome. Last year, the technical and launch complexes successfully passed tests using a full-scale electric refueling mock-up of “Angara.”

The family of Russian carrier rockets “Angara” includes both light and heavy classes that use environmentally friendly fuel components. Currently, rockets from this family have only been launched from the Plesetsk cosmodrome – the light version “Angara-1.2” was launched on July 9, 2014, and the heavy “Angara-A5” was launched on December 23 of the same year.

A total of six “Angara” rockets were launched from Plesetsk – three light and three heavy.
