Since the onset of the year, over 510 million records concerning Russians have been disclosed on the Internet, as per Deputy leader of Roskomnadzor (RCN) Milos Wagner. He mentioned that 500 million of them were compromised due to a solitary leak.The specific timing and entities involved in this incident were not disclosed. Mr. Wagner informed TASS, “We are presently conducting an investigation,” refraining from elaborating further. He further stated that in 2023, the number of data compromises escalated year after year, although the magnitude of leaks diminished. “Moreover, this single incident this year almost surpasses the entirety of the previous year,” disclosed the deputy leader of the RCN. Throughout 2023, the agency exposed 168 instances of personal data leaks, whereas approximately 300 million records about Russians made their way onto the Internet.
