NASA has once again changed the dates for the return of the Boeing Starliner spacecraft from the International Space Station (ISS) to Earth. It was previously assumed that astronauts Butch Wilmore and Suni Williams would return on June 26. A new date has not been announced, as reported by Reuters.
American astronauts launched to the ISS on the Boeing Starliner on June 5, in an effort to demonstrate the readiness of the new spacecraft for NASA certification. The Starliner successfully docked with the station. Initially, the return of the astronauts was scheduled for June 18.
Five leaks, including helium, were discovered in the capsule. During the flight, five of the 28 maneuvering engines failed, preventing the spacecraft from undocking from the ISS. Several other issues were also identified.
