The most common blocks in 2023 were related to pro-narcotic content, as reported by “Vedomosti” on January 16. Access to over 104,000 “narcotic” internet pages was restricted, which is 25% more than in 2022 (78,800). In addition, 51,200 materials of extremist nature were blocked on the internet, according to Roskomnadzor’s statistics. The service also restricted access to 26,300 web pages containing child pornography, 19,300 materials with LGBT propaganda (the movement of the same name is recognized as extremist and prohibited in the Russian Federation), and 13,000 resources with suicidal content, as indicated by the agency’s data.
