The neural network draws conclusions about employees’ intentions to leave the company based on data such as gender, age, and work activity. The AI also analyzes information about employees who have already resigned or taken leave.

According to the developer, Professor Naruhiko Shiratori, the algorithm he created is intended to help managers retain valuable employees by offering talented staff various forms of support to persuade them to stay with the company.

Japanese companies traditionally hire graduates at the same time each year, but government data shows that about one in ten new hires who have just graduated from college quits within the first year.

According to the Japanese Ministry of Labor, around 30% of young professionals leave their firms within the first three years.
