The delay is explained by weak sales of the company’s products and competition from cheap Chinese electric vehicles
Tesla will unveil the long-awaited robotaxi on August 8, said CEO Elon Musk.
The company aims to create a “next-generation platform” supporting both accessible vehicles and robotaxis, but there are no prototypes yet.
According to Bloomberg, the quick release of autonomous transport is intended to help with falling sales – the manufacturer is facing competition from cheap Chinese electric vehicles.
The publication reminds that the concept of robotaxis was presented to Tesla investors back in 2019.
