The “Angara-A5” carrier rocket will be launched from the Vostochny cosmodrome from April 6 to 10, as reported by Roscosmos. The launch is planned to be carried out with the “Orion” booster stage and payload. The rocket has already been transported to the launch complex, according to the state corporation.

“Using the transport and installation unit, the rocket was delivered from the assembly and testing building and installed on the launch pad of Site 1A,” the message states.

It is noted that the decision to transport and continue comprehensive tests of the “Angara-A5” at the launch complex was made after successful tests on the technical platform of the cosmodrome.

“Angara” is a family of Russian modular-type carrier rockets with varying payload capacities. They are created based on universal rocket modules with oxygen-kerosene engines. The family includes carrier rockets such as “Angara-1.2” (light payload capacity, from 3.5 tons) and “Angara-A5V” (up to 38 tons).

The first launch of the “Angara-A5” was originally planned for December 2023, but later postponed to the first quarter of 2024. In January, the head of Roscosmos, Yuri Borisov, stated during a meeting with President Vladimir Putin that the construction of the launch complex for the “Angara” rocket at Vostochny will be completed this year.
