According to the newspaper, in 2011 a group of Swedish divers discovered a mysterious object in the Gulf of Bothnia resembling a flying saucer with a diameter of about 60 meters.

Journalists immediately dubbed the object the “Baltic UFO,” while “Star Wars” fans called it the “Millennium Falcon.” It was later referred to as the “main mystery” of the Baltic Sea.

Scientists from Stockholm University studied the “ship” and found that it is a bottom anomaly formed by the movement of a powerful ancient glacier 140,000 years ago.

Later, at a depth of 21 meters, experts from Kiel University came across a nearly kilometer-long wall composed of perfectly aligned boulders.

Sensation seekers claimed the wall was part of the fortifications of an unknown ancient city, and the discovery as a whole was dubbed the “Baltic Atlantis.”

It was later revealed that the wall was indeed man-made, but had no connection to the Atlanteans: it was built by ancient hunters.

In 2008, tourists on the shallows near the Danish island of Møn, known for its chalk cliffs, took photos of strange “magic circles.” They believed these were traces of aliens or fairies.

Study of the circles showed that they are actually a thin fringe of eelgrass shoots – a perennial grass of the seagrass family that usually grows in shallow waters.
