Since March 1, Lithuania has banned the disembarkation of passengers from trains arriving from Kaliningrad

Starting from March 1, the authorities of Lithuania have banned disembarkation from trains transiting through the Baltic republic. Now, passengers are not allowed to get off at the border crossings in Kena and Kybartai.

On the first day of the ban, “Klops” met passengers on the Moscow – Kaliningrad train and found out if anyone managed to disembark in Lithuania.
A conductor from one of the carriages reported that two young men and a family of several people disembarked at the border crossing in Kena.

“They were let out without any problems, the doors were not locked, everything was quick, they checked the documents and let them through. The passengers had Lithuanian residency permits,” the train conductor clarified.

However, not everyone who wished to disembark was successful: a man from another carriage was denied exit by the border guards.

“The young man had Moldovan citizenship. He was not allowed to disembark,” the conductor shared.

According to the train passengers, the atmosphere at the border crossings in Kena and Kybartai was calm, with no problems or disputes arising.
Previously, the head of the Border Guard Service at the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic, Rustamas Lyubaevas, stated that the decision on disembarkation and boarding in exceptional cases will be made by the border guards.
