Russian citizens waiting for their flights at Dubai airport staged an impromptu rally lasting about half an hour, writes the Telegram channel Baza.
The publication released footage from the airport terminal. Passengers chanted “Home!” and clapped their hands. The Russians complained of being ignored by Emirates airline. According to the passengers, they were given a food voucher for McDonald’s for a day, but there was no food in the restaurant. The publication claimed there were cases of people fainting from hunger at the airport, citing eyewitnesses.
The impromptu rally caught the attention of a police officer. He recorded what was happening on video and left.
The head of the Association of Tour Operators of Russia (ATOR) Maya Lomidze previously reported that about 2,500 Russian citizens are awaiting departure from Dubai, as reported by “Radiotochka NSN”.
