Tour operators from Kaliningrad have successfully solved the problem of sending tourists to Turkey on May Day

The Turkish airline Tailwind had to cancel flights from Kaliningrad to Antalya, which were supposed to start on April 28. As a source familiar with the situation told “TourDom”, this happened due to the position of the aviation authorities of one of the EU countries: coordinating the flight of the aircraft with Russian tourists through its airspace has not been possible yet.

Nevertheless, tour operators managed to solve the problem – at least for the first May holidays. Those who were supposed to fly on Tailwind from Kaliningrad on April 28, 29, and 30, were sent to Turkey on a special flight of another airline on April 29. This involved approximately 100 tourists. According to our source, the next flight is scheduled for May 3.

It’s worth noting that the Turkish low-cost airline Tailwind was supposed to take tourists to Turkey who had booked tours with flights on another Turkish airline, Southwind. Its flights were canceled earlier due to restrictions on the use of airspace by the EU. These are the realities that the tourism industry has to deal with.
