Travel agents expect the best prices from new hotels in Turkey

With the summer season approaching, new hotels are expected to open on Turkish resorts. In May-June, Ethno Belek 5* and Club Arona 5* in Belek, Side Moon Palace 5* and Dream Fun World 5* in Side, The Norm Oriental 5* in Kemer, and Eftalia Blue 5* in Alanya promise to welcome guests.

This will allow tour companies to offer tourists new accommodation options in familiar resorts. On the other hand, recommending new hotels always carries a certain risk. For example, even if the promised opening dates are met, there is no guarantee that all infrastructure will be in proper condition by the specified date. It is not uncommon for not all restaurants and bars to be operational in the first week or two, landscaping may be incomplete, the beach may not be fully equipped, etc.

We asked participants of the TG channel “TurDom B2B Roof” whether they are willing to recommend new hotels to their clients or prefer proven options. Judging by the responses to the post, the determining factor is price: “If the cost is reasonable, of course, we offer”, “Not many are willing to pay half a million rubles for a week’s vacation”. In verbal comments, tour operators explained that among their clientele, especially among regular customers, there are many who want to choose accommodation in new, unfamiliar hotels. However, considering the uncertainty factor, many are counting on significant discounts, even if the hotel belongs to a popular hotel chain.

As for tour operators, they also take into account possible risks when entering into contracts with hotels that are just entering the market.

“For us, the reputation of the brand and management company opening the hotel is of primary importance. If we have already worked with a partner who has proven to be reliable, we will be more lenient. In addition, we assess the hotel’s readiness to receive guests – an inspection by our representatives is mandatory 2 weeks before the opening. And the risks of not opening on time are stipulated in the contract,” explained Fun & Sun. “In some cases, for additional insurance, we put up for sale tours to new hotels not for check-ins from the announced opening date, but 2-3 weeks later, to minimize possible problems due to non-compliance with deadlines,” said a representative of another tour operator who wished to remain unnamed.
