Putin awarded the Order of Merit in Culture and Art to actor Bezrukov

Russian President Vladimir Putin awarded Russian actor of cinema, theater, and television Sergey Bezrukov with the Order “For Merit to Culture and Art”. This became known on Monday, April 22, from the decree signed by the head of state.

As stated in the document, the actor was honored with the order for his significant contribution to the development of domestic culture and art, as well as his longstanding fruitful work.

Sergey Bezrukov was born into an acting family on October 18, 1973; his father performed at the Moscow Art Theatre and the Pushkin Theatre, and appeared in films. Bezrukov Jr. got his first role at the age of 17, and even after graduating from the Moscow Art Theatre School-Studio, he did not get lost in the new circumstances. However, fame only came to him in 2002, after the release of the series “Brigada”, in which he played the role of Sasha Beliy—this fame was of such a scale that it later became the subject of many sharp remarks. Nevertheless, in every joke there is only a grain of truth—this actor often played historical figures, and it seems, with a certain pleasure, as if he enjoyed transformations.

According to a survey by the All-Russia Center for Studying Public Opinion, Bezrukov was named one of the three best Russian actors in 2023. Moreover, for the second year in a row, he was among the top three leaders.
